DARLENE ANNE RINGER (nee GIFFIN) 1932 - 2018 Sadly, her family announces the passing of Darlene Anne Ringer on May 30, 2018 at Riverview Health Centre. She was just weeks shy of her 86th birthday. We were fortunate that Mom was recently transitioned to one of the Special Needs units for Alzheimer's patients. We thank the staff of B1 for their gentle care. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Anne and Carl Giffin; her husband Dick (DJ); and younger brother Larry Giffin. Left to mourn are her three children, Jo-Anne, Jim and Doug (Dorothy Penner), and her three beloved grandchildren, Stephanie (Kerry Wall), Zach and Ben, Rae Giffin of Calgary, Bill and Trudie Ringer and family of Gimli, and Judy and Brian Kilrea of Ottawa. Mom loved her family first and foremost. Mom enjoyed children and encouraged their involvement in sports. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations to the Winnipeg Goldeyes Field of Dreams Foundation, One Portage Ave. East, Winnipeg, MB R3B 3N3 or the Riverview Health Centre Foundation, One Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4 would be greatly appreciated. At our mother's direction, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Mom will be interred at Brookside Cemetery with her husband, brother, parents, and grandparents.
