My condolences go out to my former principal on the passing of Mrs. Burdy. I fondly think of the good times I had at Grant Park High School when Linda helped me overcome a personal problem and when she taught me how to associate with people. - Posted by: Philip (Former student) on: Sep 12, 2021

Our condolences to you Brian, Trudy and your family on your Mother's passing. We were first introduced to Nelda years ago through Aron (her boss at The Bay as she always referred to him) and my sister Barb Shapiro. She immediately welcomed Cliff and I and some of our children and grandchildren into her home. Always a coffee, baking, sometimes one of her many handmade candles or pine cone crafts and treats for the kids were showered upon us and a look at her garden and then talking about you and your family and times gone by. She was so very proud of you all. A kind and gentle lady with hugs for all. Sorry we couldn’t be there for her memorial as we were in Ottawa but so very thankful for our last visit with her a few days before. A kind and gentle spirit will be missed by all. I have known Nelda since as far back as I can remember. Her and my father met while working at The Bay and she has became a close friend and felt almost like a grandparent to my brother and I (still referring to my dad as her "boss", no matter how many years had passed). I will always remember her for her incredible garden, offering us more food than we could handle, since moving away from Winnipeg the excitement of pulling up to her house on Anderson and being a constant positive in our lives. Condolences to your family, after so many years of hearing about Nelda's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren I hope that one day we may meet! - Aron, Barb, Zach and Rebecca Shapiro (Calgary) - Posted by: Rebecca Shapiro (Friend) on: Jun 07, 2018

Michael, Devyn, Reegan and I were very sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She seemed to be so very loved by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as were they by her. Our sincere condolences at this time. May the memories your family has of her always remain a source of comfort. - Posted by: Linda McCheyne and family (Friend) on: Jun 06, 2018

We are so sorry for the loss of your mother and grandmother. Nelda was one of the loveliest, gentlest women we ever had the honor to know. She always showed great strength and perseverance and she always managed to make you feel better. She will be truly missed. - Posted by: Sharon Yanofsky (Friend) on: Jun 06, 2018
