JOSEPH DEREMIENS It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Joseph Deremiens of Laurier, MB. Joseph passed away peacefully after a brief illness at the Ste. Rose General Hospital, on Tuesday, June 5, at the age of 90 years. Jos was the son of the late Edouard and Bertha (Henuset) Deremiens. He was predeceased by his sister Agnes and her husband Andre Saquet, his sister Rita and her husband Jean Callarec, his sister Rosalie Theoret, his brother Octave (Ed) Deremiens and his brother-in-law Dave Langlois. Jos leaves to mourn his passing and cherish many fond memories; his brother Guy Deremiens, his sister Lydia Deremiens, his sister Paulette Langlois, his sister Therese Deremiens, his brother-in-law Ron Theoret, and his sister-in-law Marjory Deremiens. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, and great-nephews and nieces. Jos was born in Pipestone on November 9, 1927 and arrived in Laurier in 1930. He farmed for many years on the family farm. He retired from farming in 1996 and afterward took up furniture refinishing and woodworking. All of his endeavours were done with great care and diligence. Funeral service for Jos will be held on Saturday, June 16 at 2:00 p.m. in the Notre Dame des Victoires Roman Catholic Church, Laurier, MB. A special thank you for their compassionate care to Dr. Cathy Gudmundson and nurses of Ste. Rose Hospital, and the Dr. Gendreau Personal Care Home.   • I know that Joe redid one of Leda's dressers. It was one of my late mother's, Maria Lapointe's dressers. He did an excellent job.
