EMILY YURCHI (nee DERN) Emily was born on March 28, 1935 in Arborg, Manitoba, and died peacefully Friday, June 8, 2018 at the Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was a retired school teacher, wife, mother, sister and friend to many. She loved being a school teacher and she made a positive impact on many of the students that she taught. She enjoyed gardening when she lived on the family farm in Foley and spent a good deal of her summers tending, weeding and watering the many plants that she would later can and freeze in the fall. She had many talents including cooking, baking, sewing, but she most enjoyed knitting. Emily will be missed by her four children, Tony, Margaret, Shirley and David, grandson Nigel Weber, granddaughters, Marissa and Avery, and her brothers and sister. She was predeceased by her husband Frank in October, 2010. Prayers will be said on Thursday, June 14 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 15 at 11:00 a.m. also at Cropo Funeral Chapel.
