EARL THOMAS GREEN Peacefully on Friday, June 8, 2018, Earl Thomas Green passed away at the age of 86 years. Earl lived a full life wearing many hats along the way. He worked with the Fire Department in his early years and then got into property management and maintenance, initially with John A. Flanders and then had a long affiliation with Bachman Property Management. Earl owned his own business "Uniwest Management Ltd.", which did maintenance, janitorial and landscaping for both commercial and residential properties. He will be sadly missed and thought of fondly by Laura Grosvenor, Gloria Wiebe, Tabitha Dean, and his granddaughter Brianna Dean, as well as by extended family, friends and the many personal relationships made through his years of employment and operating his own company. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Worked with Earl as a junior property manager at Flanders. Was out with him one day checking on a vacant suite when a fire truck passed us, then saw smoke a couple of blocks over. I wanted to drive over to see what was happening, but,Earl refused with the statement that " you don't want to breath that s_ _ _ _ it's not camp fire smoke". He paused, then said "the men who can come out of a burning building carrying a soot covered dead kid and go back to work the next day are the bravest men of all. ... I wasn't one of them". The rest of the trip was very, very quiet. Now, we call it First Responder P.T.S.D. ,but, back then ... I guess you became a property manager. Good bye Earl. Wish I could have spent an hour with you before THE END. - Posted by: Tom Miller (Work Mate) on: Sep 19, 2018

  • I'll always remember Earl by his nick name "idiot" Most people who didn't know how close we were thought I was disrespectful when I shouted "hey idiot" but we always had a lots of laughs over it. He loved to tell jokes some were hilarious others twisted and bent, Earl always introduced me to his friends and relatives, both which seemed endless. Earl was "grandpa" to all his employees children, uncle Earl to some, and "old man" to many others. He had many coworkers, some swore by him and many swore at him. His first venture into property management began with Mosaic management. He managed the Courts of St James and the Northdale Shopping centre at the time I first met him. He often would ask me for advice which I appreciated eventually giving him all my properties to manage. Together our network expanded and grew as did the connections to suppliers and equipment. We often met for a hamburger at dairy queen, he loved those grilled cheeseburgers with a chocolate shake. The best moment ever was when he was driving home after a night of drinking and he hit a hole in the road causing the tire to blow out. He called me to tell me about it and that he had just "pooped" his pants, except he said the "S" word. But that was earl, he was full of "S" everyone knew it but loved him just the same. - Posted by: Kenneth Greenberg (RYCE) (BUSINESS ASSOCIATE) on: Jul 30, 2018
