FRANCES BARNABE Marie Rose France (Nault) Barnabé, beloved and cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, auntie and friend, died on June 8, 2018 at the Morris General Hospital. Mémère was born at St-Pierre Jolys, Manitoba on December 3, 1926. She worked on the family farm where she established her strong work ethic which never waivered. She married Robert Barnabé on October 31, 1953, and they raised their family in St-Jean Baptiste. She worked in the healthcare system, was a foster mother, and worked at the school. Our favourite memories of Mémère are: driving into the ditch; lunches, gatherings and sick days at her house; great debates; her independence and feisty spirit; tourtière, soup, donuts and butter tarts; fly swatters; the hats, shoes, and jackets; her garden; walking every day and determination to stay healthy; strong social justice beliefs; and her open heart. She didn't have much but gave all she could, and was a model for all of us about how to love and take care of others. Mourning her death are her children: Marcelle and Renald, Michel and Judy, Marc and Bernice, Nicole and Donald; grandchildren: Cheryl and Patrick, Carmelle and Allan, Chris and Neil, Chad and Josianne, Christy and Brad, Troy and Francine, Kayla, Kylee, Jorgia; great-grandchildren: Jocelyne and Madeleine, Alexander, Ashlyn and Mackay, Addison and Carter, and many nieces and nephews. She has joined her husband Robert and son Luc. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful nurses, doctors, home care workers, visitors, Morris Funeral Home, St-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church and all who provided their support during these difficult times. Mass and eulogy will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 at the St-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church starting at 4:15 p.m., preceeded by a Powerpoint presentation. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Diabetes Canada, CancerCare Manitoba or Morris Palliative Care. Arrangements Entrusted to: morrisfuneralhome.ca 204-746-2451

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • My mother was a kind and loving soul in which I will never forget. I hope I made you proud Mom because I never got it easy. I will miss our long chats and especially your sound wisdom. Heaven has gotten an Angel and there's a major empty space in my heart at the moment. Till we meet again.... - Posted by: Nicolle Barnabe (Daughter) on: Jul 05, 2018
