GLADYS HELEN WYNES March 10, 1924 - June 18, 2018 It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gladys Wynes (nee Dixon). Left to mourn her passing and to celebrate her enduring legacy are her children, Kathy (Jim Barker), Carolyn (Terry Musgrave) and son Frank (Barbara). She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Shaun (Melinda), Neil (Suzanne), Craig, Andrew, Eryn and Sharon (Matt). Gladys was proud of her great-grandchildren, Steen, Gair, Leif, Kendall, Tyler, Maya, Torin, Zoe and Jackson. Her sister Donna Murphy cherished her sense of fun and her love of life and family. Her niece Jean and nephews, Jeffrey and David remember her fondly. She was predeceased by her husband Jim in 2009. We would like to express sincere thanks to special companions Merna and Margaret for their compassion and support during her final days. We would also like to thank the staff at Deer Lodge for their dedication and care. A private family service will be held at a later date. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • My thoughts and prayers are with my former principal Mr. Wynes and retired University of Manitoba professor Mrs. Wynes in loving memory of Mrs. Wynes. - Posted by: Philip (Former student at Oakenwald Elementary School) on: Jan 04, 2022

  • Gladys and I were colleagues for several years at the then Keewatin Community College (now University of the North) and became good friends, visiting back and forth. Of course, her late husband Jim was part of our get togethers. Regretably, due to lack of information, I was unable to visit Gladys once she was a patient in Deer Lodge. I really missed her these last couple of years, and will continue to do so. My memories of her will endure. May this kind and compassionate lady rest in peace for all eternity. - Posted by: Elsie Dawe (A good friend since the 70s.) on: Jul 31, 2018

  • I was so sorry to hear of Mrs. Wynes passing. She was the nicest lady with the most kindest of hearts. She will be missed. My condolences. - Posted by: Patty K (Friend/student) on: Jun 25, 2018
