RONALD HIDLEBAUGH May 18, 1946 - June 29, 2018 With loving thoughts and memories, we sadly announce the passing of Ron, our husband, father, stepfather, brother, uncle and friend on Friday, June 29, 2018 at the age of 72 years. Ron is survived by his wife Bonnie; daughters, Rachael (Tim) and their children, Alexander and Katherine; Sheri and her children, Miguel, Emilio and Carlos; Heather (Roy); son Jonathon (Sheena) and their children, Tristyn and Kira; sister Rosemary (Ken); brothers, David (Zee), Daniel, Mark (Barb) and Mel along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Mel, mother Denise and stepmother Doris; daughter Ksanya and brother Paul. Ron was passionate about riding his Harley with his gang of brothers. His favourite saying was "loud pipes save lives." He loved fishing and most of all spending cherished time with family and friends; he was especially proud of being called grandpa. Ron was well known as Denim Dan patrolling the halls of River East Collegiate and enjoyed time spent with staff and students whom he considered friends. He leaves many fond and happy memories. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating Ron's life will be held on Wednesday, July 4 at 2:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ron may be made to the Asper Clinical Research Institute. • Our deepest condolences to you Bonnie and the Hidlebaugh family on the loss of Ron. We will forever remember Ron for all the hilarious stories that only he could tell. The stories he would relate about all the the rebel days with Frank and himself in Stonewall back in the day would have us all howling and yeah many times shocked! He had such an infectious laugh. We can still hear him as if he was still here. We love him as family and we will miss him big time. But he HAS left his mark on the world for being such an amazing person and by showing us all how to live life because from all the stories he told us, he definitely lived life LARGE! We love you Ron and you will be in our hearts and thoughts forever. Much love. Frank and Bep💙💜💚 - Posted by: Frank and Bep Blandford (Friend) on: Jul 04, 2018

  • My sincere condolences to Bonnie and family. Ron and I both started our careers at River East Collegiate ten years ago. It was shortly after that he bought Bonnie her Mustang Convertible.....he was so proud! Although I’m not sure how much she got to drive it because he loved to take her to work and pick her up in it with the top down! It became very clear that he was quite the car, truck and motorcycle enthusiast. If I ever had a question about vehicles, I would go to him. He loved to talk about movies and new series, especially Game of Thrones. I am thankful for our friendship and talks about life over a steaming McCafe. He will be sadly missed in the hallways of River East but I know he will be happy driving his Harley in the heavenly highway. - Posted by: Linda Lacoste (Colleague and friend) on: Jul 04, 2018

  • My deepest sympathies on the loss of Ron. I worked in the office at REC and found him to be a very special person. One little memory I have of Ron, was when I had to take a deposit to the bank on Fridays he would be my own personal security guard and walk me to my car to keep me and my bank deposit safe. I always appreciated his kindness. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless🙏 Dianne - Posted by: Dianne Gawalko (Former colleague at REC) on: Jun 30, 2018
