STEPHEN JOHN PROSSER Stephen Prosser passed on July 3, 2018 after a short battle with cancer. Born January 13, 1951 in Brampton, ON, he grew up with a love for lacrosse and hockey, which earned him a draft invitation to the Toronto Maple Leafs at the age of 16. His love and knowledge for cars took him into the occupation of auto sales. Throughout his years in this profession, he gained numerous friends and colleagues. He had a heart of gold, and a love to all of those he held close. Steve is survived by his wife Lynn; daughter Jodi and fiancé Jason, granddaughters, Sadilyn, Olivia and Baby M; son Andrew; daughter Cori; sister Wendy (Bob); brother Robert (Penny); sister Shirley (Warren); brother Peter (Kathleen); brother Mike (Sylvie); sister-in-law Karen (Brad); brother-in-law Rob (Sarah); and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, Sydney and Susan, and his much loved nephew Greg. Heartfelt thanks to Floyd and Heather, Gary, Riverview Health Centre, and CancerCare Manitoba for their help and care over the past few months. As per his wishes, cremation took place and a party will be held in his honour on Friday, July 13, 2018 at The Captain's Table Restaurant (1823 Portage Ave.) from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Winnipeg Brain Tumour Walk 2018 under the team name Steppin' for Steve (braintumourevents.ca)

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I was broken hearted when I heard the news. I wish I could have seen you one last time. I knew the situation. I knew it wasn't good. But it didn't make it any easier hearing about you passing. I'm going to miss taking shots of Grand Marnier with you and then get your sass about how I'm not taking the shooter properly. You're supposed to sip it. Or when you put salt in your beer and I quickly got a science lesson when I questioned why you were doing that. You are always going to be my favorite customer & everyone knew it. You will always remain in my memory and heart. I miss you already. I love you Sassy Steve. Til we meet again <3 - Posted by: Alesha (aka Barney) (Favorite Bartender) on: Aug 13, 2018

  • Always the character. You were always the first person to step up and offer people a hand, like when you opened your home to me when I arrived here at Midway Chrysler in Winnipeg in May, 2004. We spent many a memorable time (lab lite empties in my pillow case) on the road together over a couple of years. You always had the greatest joke stories, they and you will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. R.I.P. my friend! - Posted by: Bill McCartney (Friend) on: Jul 11, 2018

  • So very sorry for your loss Lynn. My condolences to you and your family and Steve’s family. I never got to meet but, through you, I almost felt I knew him. He seemed to be a wonderful, kind and loving man. I’m glad that you had him in your life and hope that you go to Jose beautiful memories, especially when you are sad and down.
