MARION NEUFELD On Friday, July 6, 2018, Marion Neufeld passed away at the age of 84 years. Marion was predeceased by her husband John, her parents, Ernie and Vera Mullen, two brothers, Ken and Lyall, two sisters, Norma and Marlene, and her great-granddaughter Ella. She is survived by her four children, sons, Vernon and Curtis, daughters, Janice and Vera (Henry), four sisters, Daphne, Lois, Florence and Marjorie, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Our mother was born on July 19, 1933 at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Regina, Saskatchewan and grew up on the family farm in the Swan River Valley. She was always proud of her Irish and English heritage. Mom loved to cook and bake, and she enjoyed reading and walking. She worked at a variety of jobs over the years, the proudest of which was her ability to drive an 18-wheeler! Together, Mom and Dad made such a great team, driving many long distance trips throughout Canada and the US. Mom shared with us her faith and trust in God, based on principles in the Bible. She taught us the importance of family, the value of true friendship and always encouraged us to be true to ourselves. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, known for her pleasant smile and warm hugs. Our mother was all about giving to her family and she was all about love. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Red River Place Care Home in Selkirk for their wonderful care provided during the one week that Mom resided there, where she was so warmly welcomed. We also express our gratitude to the Gilbart Funeral Home in Selkirk, for their kindness and care of arrangements. Cremation has taken place, and a private family gathering will be held at a future time.
