LORI TIPPETT (RAHN) December 10, 1960 - July 8, 2018 It is with deep sorrow that the family of Lori Tippett (Rahn) (nee Ruff) announce her sudden passing on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the age of 57 years. Lori is survived by her husband Bob Tippett; daughters, Jay Rahn (Aurora) and Kristin Voss (Derrick); sister Cathy Sterdan (Michael); nieces, Julie Popke (Eddie) and Tracy Sterdan (Jamie); great-nephews, Ashton, Jack and Nicholas; uncle and aunt Gordon and Gail Ruff, and many cousins. Also left to cherish her memory is Bob's family including his parents, siblings, children and grandchildren. Lori's family and her involvement in church activities were the cornerstones of her life. She cherished family gatherings and always added meaningful touches to make events special. Family Christmas traditions were upheld with her scrumptious and plentiful baking. Lori's daughters were the light of her life; supporting their individual aspirations and encouraging them to pursue their dreams was a priority. Lori devoted much of her life to various church activities. She was a lifelong and active member of Christ Lutheran Church until its closing. She also worked at Luther Village as a program leader, played the piano for church services at Luther Home and most recently was the choir director and organist at St. Francis Anglican where she was instrumental in the children's participation in church services. Lori had a lasting and profound effect on everyone she met. Her consideration for others is exemplified in her employment at Tauber Music where she had personal connections with each student and made extraordinary efforts to schedule music lessons conveniently for families with multiple children. Lori's family will always remember her selflessness, ability to give, and unconditional love. A celebration of Lori's life will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 21 in Centennial Room 9, Victoria Inn, 1808 Wellington Avenue. (Entrance on the south east side of the building.) For those who wish, donations in Lori's memory can be made to the Children's Hospital Foundation, Music Therapy Program, CE501 - 840 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1S1. • While Lori and I had not been in touch for several years, I will always remember her as a warm, kind, generous friend. Her smile was brilliant and her heart was huge. We first met at Beautiful Savior and I will cherish the memories I have of her from that time. I was shocked to hear of her sudden passing and my heart is full of sorrow for those she left behind, most especially Jay and Kristin. Cherish the legacy of this wonderful women and know that she is in the hands of her Lord and at peace. • What sad news. God bless you as you mourn the passing of Lori. A saint and sinner, redeemed by God's mercy. I had the privilege of being her pastor for a while, and got to know her and Bob and the Ruff clan. God is with you as you walk through the valley of the shadow of death. • I first met Lori when I taught the Yamaha Music program at Tauber Music. Her bubbly personality and willingness to help students and their families was amazing. • I knew Lori for over forty years. We first met through the Lutheran Chorale and quickly became friends. She had a bubbly personality, had many talents both musical and otherwise and was kind, loving and generous. In 1983 she married my only brother, Robert. Now she was not only my friend but also my sister-in-law. My condolences to her family but especially her girls. She left this world far too soon. To Jay & Kristin: Words can not lessen the sorrow of losing both your father and now your mother. Have faith that you will someday see them again. - Posted by: Angela (sister-in-law) on: Jul 18, 2018
