JEAN MARY MILLER (nee BRENNAN) It is with sad and heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mum, Jean Mary Miller, of The Waverley Retirement Residence on Thursday, July 19, 2018, after a brief battle with cancer at the Grace Hospital at the age of 89 years. She was predeceased by her late husband of 34 years, William Edgar Miller. Loving mother of Michael and his wife Jill (Georgetown, ON) and Duane and his partner Leigh (Vancouver, BC); cherished grandmother of Emma, Hannah, Julianna and William. She will also be sadly missed by her brother John Brennan; "the girls" Lorna Hutchings, Lois Johnson and Geri Cassels. Jean was born in Winnipeg, MB on December 25, 1928. She is best known among her family and friends for her love of oil painting of wildlife (birds), landscapes and her love of dogs. She was an active member of St. Luke's Anglican Church in Winnipeg. At Jean's request, a private cremation has taken place. Special thanks to Leslie Kirby for taking Jean to her doctors' appointments in our absence. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Humane Society is appreciated. I took His hand when I heard Him call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work, or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things, I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savoured much - Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me; God wanted me now. He set me free. www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Jean has been on my mind for quite sometime. So I did a quick search and am sad to learn of her passing. But so happy to see she had grandchild that I am sure filled and enriched her life. Many years ago. Around 1998, when I was a hairdresser, her and Michael were my regular clients. I always enjoyed seeing them both and visiting with them. They always were up to some kind of interesting activity to fill their time. I still have a have a recipe for zucchini bread she shared with me. Rest in peace Jean, thanks for always making me smile. My deepest condolences to the family and all her friends - Posted by: Lindsay Peterson (Previous hairdresser ) on: Jan 02, 2023
