MARGARET ANN RIXEN (nee KARDAL) It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother Margaret in Winnipeg on July 20, 2018. She passed away peacefully, with her family at her side. She has gone to join her beloved husband Douglas. She is survived by her children, Glenn, Kelly, Sandra (Eriks), Karen (Tom) and Daniel, her grandchildren, Jamie (Robbie), Laura, Sam, Evan, Duncan and Trevor. She is also survived by her siblings, Valerie, Marlene, George and Rhonda. Predeceased by her parents, Finnbogi and Emma and siblings, Robert, Arthur, Donald and Barbara. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and family. Margaret retired from a long career in nursing. Her love of travel took her and Doug around the world, but they found a special place in Cuba where they had many dear friends. Margaret was an active member of her community for many years, most notably at Anavets 283 where she was the sitting president of the Over 55 Club. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 31, at 1:00 p.m., Anavets #283, 3584 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada.
