MILAN HORVAT In loving memory, we announce with heavy hearts, the passing of Milan Horvat. Surrounded by his family, on August 5, 2018, Milan passed away peacefully at the age of 78 in Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Milan is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Ema and daughters, Vesna and Danila. He is preceded in death by his parents, Katarina and Rudolph, brother Jozef, sisters, Ema and Katarina and son-in-law Louis. Left to mourn are his brother Rudolf, many nieces and nephews. Milan was born August 1, 1940 in Vanca Vas, Slovenia and as a Machinist, he immigrated to Canada with his family in 1970. Milan, a loving husband and father, the rock to his family, loved to travel and always put the comfort and needs of his family before his own. He will be missed by many of his good friends who partook in the joy of making kranjska klobasa. Milan was also an active supporter of Canadian Slovenian Cultural Society and past president of the Slovenian Club of Manitoba. We would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses at MICU for the great care they provided. He will always be missed and affectionately remembered. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to a charity of your choice.
