Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE CHUDY (nee URUSKI) It is with great sadness we announce Mom's passing on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the Grace Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph (2001), her parents Frank (1982) and Mary Uruski (2000). Lovingly remembered by her daughters, Ginny Chudy, Marge Kudelski (Bob), Veronica (Joe) Malenchak and Sue (Grant) Blair; her sister, Evelyn Pomanski, and brothers, Steve (Stella) Uruski of Winnipeg and Bill (Elaine) Uruski of Zbaraz, as well as her eight grandchildren, Jarrod (Tara) Malenchak, Karen Malenchak, Sarah (Ryan) Broten, Kim Kudelski, Jade (Jon) Yakel, Eric Blair, Kirsty Blair, Kevin (Megan) Baillie, and six great-grandchildren, Hunter, Zachary, Cohen, Emily, Noah and Amelia who brought her immense joy. Mom grew up on the family farm forming a close bond with her sister and brothers that lasted her lifetime. She got her teaching certificate from Normal School in 1952 and began her career in the Poplarfield area. On July 12, 1952 she married our dad and were blessed with 49 years, building a family and a life together. Mom taught for 36 years and was Principal of Poplarfield Elementary for a good portion of those years. She had great teaching qualities being kind and fair. She loved her job and the many students she crossed paths with. After retiring she was able to travel with Dad. They visited Hawaii, Mexico, went on a Caribbean cruise and had a timeshare in Caberete in the Dominican Republic. She especially enjoyed her trips with "the girls", Aunty Evelyn, cousin Phyllis Harris and her daughter Ginny to Puerto Vallarta and Florida. She was very active in the Community Centre and the Ladies Aid. She always enjoyed getting together socially with the Birthday Club. In 2008 Mom moved to Winnipeg and since 2015 has resided at Sterling House where she made new friends. She was an avid sports fan following the Goldeyes, Blue Bombers and Winnipeg Jets. She enjoyed listening to music, reading novels and keeping up with the news. Mom was a very loving mother who endlessly gave her time and devotion to her family. She was a great homemaker, excellent cook, gardener, and listener. We could always come to her for good, practical advice and support. She was a gracious host always ready to feed whomever came to visit, and we all enjoyed her delicious chicken soup with homemade noodles. She always had a huge garden and shared her produce with friends and family. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Joshua, Dr. George, the nursing staff and healthcare aides on 3 South for their care and compassion. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 11 at 11:00 a.m., at the Poplarfield Community Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. FISHER FUNERAL HOME INC. In care of arrangements. 204-372-6271 OR 204-372-6803

Dearest Chudy Family, I am so sorry I was unable to attend your mom’s funeral. My brothers said it was a beautiful tribute to a beautiful lady. Your mom was always kind and always had an ear to listen. She was sincere and had the warmest smile. I fondly remember family get togethers at your home in Poplarfield with wonderful food, laughter and that beautiful sense of family. You were blessed with a wonderful mom. Cherish her memories. - Posted by: Kathy McDonnell (Niece) on: Aug 15, 2018
