Born: Mar 10, 1925
Date of Passing: Aug 04, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRED ROSMUS Fred, born March 10, 1925, peacefully left this world on August 4, 2018, at the age of 93 at the Betel Nursing Home, in Selkirk, MB. Better known as our Uncle Freddy, he was the last of five children, and the final loved one from the generation to leave this world. Fred was raised by his mother Mary and father John at their family farm, on Melrose Avenue in the RM of Birds Hill. Over the years Fred worked at Eaton's, Winnipeg Bus Depot, and Birds Hill Park. He lived on the farm until 1999, where he relocated to Lockport, MB. Uncle Freddy chose to live a quite simple life; his greatest loves were gardening, movies, his nieces and nephews, and a good A&W burger and chips. He loved to evoke nostalgia in movies, books, and stories of the past. He had a remarkable ability to remember anything to do with numbers, at times he couldn't remember yesterday, but could tell you the height, birthday, or score of any fact. Fred lived a long life, full of stories only he could tell, and a joke that could crack you up like no other, even until his final days. He was always a sharp dresser and took pride in it, giving fashion advice to his 60 years junior. Uncle Freddy has taught us about the simple life, cherishing your children's smiles, the value of a dollar, and the joy you can bring someone with only your presence. Fred will be missed by his friend Gloria, who kept a special eye on him and whose smile warmed his heart. We would like to say thank you to all the support at the Betel Home where Fred received the care he needed in his final year, they are truly angels. Uncle Freddy, you will be greatly missed by your loved ones, you will be remembered in our thoughts, in our hearts, and in our children's smiles by the stories we tell of you. Love your Family xoxoxo There will be no public service to honour his final wishes. Arrangements entrusted to
