Date of Passing: Aug 08, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryREVA JOYCE MEYER On August 8, 2018, Reva Joyce Meyer passed away at the age of 89 in Sidney, BC. Reva leaves to mourn her four daughters, Barbara Meyer, Donna (John) Schwarz, Diana (David) Barlow and Susan (John) English; grandchildren, Sean (Lauren) Pearson, Cheryl (Philippe) Pearson, Jan (Janelle) Schwarz, Brett (Julie) Schwarz, Peter Barlow, Jennifer (Shawn) Barlow, Andrea (Shawn) Johnston and Stephen (Leesa) English; and great-grandchildren, William, Mila, Kira, Elle, Caleb, Joshua, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Andrew, Chase and Kayla. Also left to mourn are her sister Betty (Harvey) Wood, brother-in-law Richard (Moraig) Meyer, and many nieces and nephews. Reva was born in Moose Jaw, SK in 1929. Her childhood spanned the 'dirty thirties' and she often told vivid stories of the hardships of living in the dust bowl of Saskatchewan. As a child, she was blessed with a beautiful singing voice and was invited to sing on the local radio. Reva was a natural athlete and the star player on her high school basketball team. In 1946, Reva fell in love with and married Barrie Meyer. Reva and Barrie shared 42 years together until Barrie's death. Reva's pride and joy was her close-knit family. Although it was Reva's wish that her family always be together, we were a family of wanderers, spread out across the world. Reva was constantly travelling to keep up with us all. She never once missed sending a birthday card to each of us, always signing her name with the words 'With all my love'. Reva's greatest gift to her family was her commitment to keeping our family close despite the geographic distances between us. We will remember Reva for her beautiful smile, her remarkably youthful appearance, her delicious baking, her meticulous knitting, her beautiful singing voice, her strong Christian faith, and her warm hugs. With all our love, we will miss you. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the Central Church of Christ, 170 St. Mary's Rd. in Winnipeg.

Hi Susan, I just read the lovely tribute to your Mom. I remember her as a lovely lady and one who always made us feel very welcome in your home on Mathers. My Mom passed away 14 years ago and I still think of her almost daily. I know all the special memories of your Mom will help you and your sisters in this difficult time. My sincere condolences to you and your family. Kathy Reid ( nee Law) - Posted by: Kathy Reid (nee Law) (Childhood friend of Susans) on: Aug 24, 2018
