MARIA ARMANDA RAPOSO (nee ARRUDA) Maria Armanda Dos Santos Raposo passed away peacefully on August 14, 2018 at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 84 years. She has gone to join her predeceased husband Albino and eldest son Victor. She leaves behind her children, Goretti (Victor), Lucy (Robert) and John; grandsons, Lucas, David, Evan and Ian. Also mourning her loss is cousin and friend Alda; niece Urania (Carlos) and friend Laura (David), who all visited her frequently at St. Joseph's Residence, as well as many more nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Born in Sao Miguel, Açores, Portugal, Armanda married Albino in 1961 and immigrated to Winnipeg in 1962. She was a woman of faith and a proud Açorean who was equally proud to call Canada home. The family would like to thank the family at St. Joseph's Residence for the respectful care they provided her. They would recall how even as she winced after taking her meds she was always saying thank you. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Armanda's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Vigil Prayers at 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 20, 2018 and Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin Street N.
