Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARJORIE JOY LECKETT (nee CARTER) July 11, 1940 - August 15, 2018 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister and grandmother, Marjorie on Wednesday, August 15 at Riverview Health Centre. She is survived by her children, Cameron and Kristen, her son-in-law Lorne and only grandson Aidan, as well as her sisters, Gail (Ron) Johnson and Gloria (John) Anderson; and brothers, Charlie (Isabelle) Carter and Bruce (Ruth) Carter, along with numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Victor (2014); and parents, Charles and Barbara Carter. Mom spent the majority of her working career with the City of Winnipeg. She was affectionately known as "Marj the Sarg" by her co-workers for her innate ability to keep the office running smoothly. When she retired, she spent her days in the garden with Dad, and puttering around the kitchen baking. But her greatest joy was when she was able to spend her days with her only grandson, Aidan. They had a special connection, and we're so glad that Aidan had the chance to grow up with her as his grandma. Mom was a fighter. She faced a lot of health challenges through her life and met every one of them head on with no complaints. She was kind and generous and will be missed every single day by those who love her. Thank you to the Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care Group (3E) for their care and support during Mom's time there. As per Mom's wishes, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Marjorie's name to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Manitoba Lung Association. Cremation and interment will take place at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit www.chapellawn.ca Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 204-885-9715

Marj -- Two years ago you journeyed to a better & painless place - to join your beloved Vic. I still want to dial 837-#### & have a chat with you. We never lost contact after our retirement. We sure had "good memories" to share. Till we meet again, my friend, say a good word to the Master for me. Monique Kowaliuk - Posted by: Monique Kowaliuk (Ex co-worker & friend) on: Aug 14, 2020

Marj was the nicest person I ever met. I only worked with her for 6 months, but 20 years ago she took me under her wing to take over her job when she retired. I often think of her and tell people what a wonderful person she is and the opportunity she gave me. I will always remember her and continue to tell my story. - Posted by: Cheryl Ennis (Co-worker) on: Aug 23, 2018
