MURIEL RUBY CAPTAIN (nee LYTLE) 1923 - 2018 After 94 years of life lived to the fullest, Mom passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2018. She was predeceased by our father, her husband and best friend Tom, as well as by her brother and sister-in-law Edwin and Denise Lytle, parents, Ethel and Fred Lytle, and parents-in-law, Elsie and Isaac Captain. She is greatly missed by her children, Catherine Captain (late Stephen Wright), Patricia Captain (late Jacques Guerin) and James Captain, her grandchildren Sydney Wright (Tyler McGregor) and Alex Wright (Gary Wilkie), great-grandson Sylas McGregor, and her sister Geraldine Lindgren (Arnold), as well as nieces, nephews and friends. Born October 6, 1923 on a farm near Swan Lake, Manitoba, Mom embraced the meaning of family, community and hard work. Mom and Dad were married for 63 years, and spent almost 60 of them living in Charleswood. She was a devoted mother, a much loved grandmother, a supportive and trusted friend and neighbour. Family came first to Mom, and she put her heart and soul into raising her family, as well as into making her community a better place by putting in countless volunteer hours. She also liked to laugh and have a good time. Mom and Dad were able to make wonderful memories with family and friends, whether it be at their home, travelling to various destinations or at their beloved cottage at Sandy Bay. The family would like to thank the staff of Sturgeon Creek II, Deer Lodge Hospital, Calvary Place, and Health Sciences Centre for the wonderful care they provided to Mom. Friends are invited to join in a celebration of her life at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
