ROBERT ANDRE BERNARDIN It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bob on Saturday, August 18, 2018, born second in a family of eight. He is survived by his wife Gerri, his stepdad Ed, his sisters and brothers: Denise (Mike), Rick (Karen), Janet (Craig), Yvette (Blair), Susie (Bill), Don and Doe; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Chuck, his mother Terry (whom he shared a special bond with), his very good friend "Mon Oncle" Hec, and his fur baby girl Mitzy. Bob had a variety of interesting jobs throughout his life from a carnie with Conklin Shows, a bus driver with Marine Pipeline, to retiring as an office manager with Ledcor Pipeline, to name a few. He loved to travel with Gerri and they enjoyed their many trips to Vegas, throughout the US, Cuba and the Dominican. Bob loved get-togethers with family and friends and all the "chicanery" and laughter they brought. In 2008, Bob and Gerri purchased a place in Apache Junction, Arizona for their retirement. Shortly thereafter, Bob suffered a stroke and Apache Junction became his safe haven. He spent winters with Gerri out of the cold, and gained independence he couldn't have had in Winterpeg. Apache Junction was his paradise, where he found an extended family and friends, and enjoyed happy and yappy hours. He was able to continue his trips to Vegas which he loved; the last trip in November of 2017 was a special one as he was joined by family and friends where they all attended the first Jets game at the T-Mobile Arena. Bob will be greatly missed and will be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humour, his contagious smirk and the many laughs he brought to all. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion at 426 Osborne St. on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. We want to thank the staff at Riverview for the compassion given during his stay, with special thanks to Salina, Dr. Steven and Alla. Should family and friends so desire, donations in Bob's memory may be made to Riverview Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit 3 East.
