MURIEL ROSE SNARR (WRAY)

MURIEL ROSE SNARR (nee WRAY) January 21, 1937 September 4, 2018 Muriel peacefully passed away with family by her side, September 4, 2018, at the Percy E. Moore Hospital, at the age of 81 years. In the 1950s and 1960s, Muriel worked as a nurse in the Canadian Army, and then at the Morris General Hospital. She met Allan, and they were married November 18, 1967. Together they raised their children on the family farm. Muriel had many interests including baking, her homemade bread won many 1st place ribbons in the Morris Stampede bread baking competition, gardening, reading, curling and horses. She and daughter Susan went to many horse shows together, and eventually Muriel began to compete herself, bringing home a few ribbons. Muriel was a generous and caring person, and she will be sorely missed by all that knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Nancy Snarr, Susan (Dean) Switzer, John (Julie) Snarr and two grandchildren, Jamie Snarr and Jase Chartier. Muriel was predeceased by her husband Allan Valentine Snarr; her parents, Mark and Eliza (nee Davies) Wray; brother Fred Wray; and sister Elizabeth Wray. We love you Mom, and we will miss you. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Morris United Church. Burial will take place at the Morris Cemetery. Viewing will be held Monday, September 10 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Morris Funeral Home and at the church prior to the funeral service. The family wishes to thank the staff at Morris General Hospital, Fisher Branch Personal Care Home, staff at Percy E. Moore Hospital and special thanks to Corey Wall at Morris Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or Fisher Branch Personal Care Home.
