KENNETH GORDON SMITH October 20, 1939 - September 7, 2018 It is with very heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kenneth Smith on September 7, 2018, peacefully at home, surrounded by family. Ken will be lovingly remembered by his wife Grace (Holland), sons, Dan (Nancy), Kelly (Teresa), and sadly missed by his cherished grandchildren, Kieran, Cole, Kayla and Ryan, sisters, Dorothy Nicoll and Barbara Mykle (Arne), brother Jim (Brenda), along with numerous nieces and nephews. Ken's quiet strength, sense of humour and kind nature will be remembered forever. He loved his family dearly. He was a wonderful and caring person and looked forward to time spent with family and friends. In keeping with Ken's request, a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ward 3E of Riverview Health Centre or charity of your choice. Blood donations in his memory would be appreciated. Always loved and forever in our hearts

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Ken and Grace were our neighbours at the beach. The kind of neighbours that were there for you, always ready to lend a helping hand. They were so supportive and helpful keeping a watch over my dad who had dementia so I could go down to the water with my son. One day I asked Ken for help removing a huge wasp nest to which he willingly agreed. When I mentioned it to Grace later in the day she stated he was allergic and did not have an Epipen. Ken would of helped had Grace not spoken up. My family was very blessed to have such thoughtful neighbours. Our sincerest sympathies to the entire family. Cherish your treasured memories of Ken. • Ken, was a man of few words. We will miss him on the golf course and we all had the pleasure of riding with him on the cart and keeping score. Always enjoyed the nice cold beers after a good golf game. Cheers "Ken" In bowling, Ken was a veteran, and in his younger years he was a competitive bowler. At the old German Alleys, he held high average for a year. Again what was the great highlight after bowling- of course Draft beer and in the later years at the legion POPCORN!!!! Rest in Peace, our buddy We will miss you! - Posted by: Bowling and Golfing Buddies (Friends) on: Sep 11, 2018
