DONALD K. MCLACHLAN Peacefully on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at Grace Hospital, at the age of 95, with family by his side. Predeceased by wife Louise in 2017. Left to mourn his loss are son Bruce, Winnipeg, daughter Colleen Fraser (Gregg), Mayne Island, BC, cherished granddaughters, Jane and Grace Fraser, Victoria, BC. Also survived by brother-in-law Ron O'Donovan, nephews and nieces. Dad was born and raised in Boissevain, MB the oldest of three with sister Eunice (2009) and brother Robert (2001). After graduating high school Dad attended college in Winnipeg then had a 44-year career with Canada Packers. Mom and Dad spent over 60 years together in their house in Charleswood. Summers were spent at West Hawk Lake for 45 years. Dad was a Past Master of the Charleswood Masonic Lodge #163, 33rd degree member of Scottish Rite Valley of Winnipeg, Past Patron OES (Friendship Chapter), member of The Royal Order of Scotland and the Khartum Shrine Komedians. He was also Past President of the Charleswood Curling Club and belonged to the Charleswood Historical Society. Thanks to Dad's home care workers who helped him to stay at home, and angels Denise and Gerri who took such good care of him over the past year. Thanks also to special neighbours who were always there to lend a hand, and Dr. Mark Clark, as well as the Safeway Pharmacy team. We are grateful for the exceptional care Dad received in his final days at Grace Hospital 4 South. Donations for the Eastern Star Chalet (Grand Chapter of Manitoba OES, 52-525 Cathcart St., Winnipeg, MB R3R 0S6) or the Shriner's Transportation Fund (Khartum Shrine, 1155 Wilkes Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3P 1B9) would be appreciated. Memorial service Friday, September 14, 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary Anglican Church, 3830 Roblin Blvd., Charleswood. Cremation has taken place. Private interment at the Boissevain Cemetery.
