LINDA IVY JARDINE (nee BASSETT) January 3, 1945 - September 7, 2018 Peacefully, at her home, on Friday, September 7, Linda Ivy Jardine passed away at the age of 73. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, John Jardine, her four children, Kim Podolsky (Scott), Sean Jardine (Carolyn), Chris Jardine (Shanley), David Jardine, and her seven grandchildren, Mike (Jaime), Warren, Quinn, Maryn, Indianna, Eston and Maielle. Linda was born in Winnipeg and moved at a young age to Warren, MB where her family ran Freddy's Café. It was here that she met the love of her life and highschool sweetheart John. Mom moved to the city after graduation and worked with Manitoba Hydro for a short period of time until she married John in 1966. From there she and John lived a wonderful life sharing many adventures from travelling all over Canada, the US and Europe, to raising their four beautiful children and many grandchildren. Mom loved the outdoors, always camping with her family and close friends the Smiths and Rivais, but her true passion was for gardening. She and John both shared this passion and together they helped establish Meadows Park with the help of their two neighbours, winning awards for their efforts. Her gardening efforts were also acknowledged closer to home with her home being included in Communities in Bloom for which she was very proud. In addition to her gardening efforts, she was well known for her crafts hosting very successful and anticipated craft shows with the help of her daughter Kim. Mom also loved to cook, she was happiest while feeding her family with all her amazing recipes. Everyone always looked forward to Mom's famous spaghetti sauce and homemade pizza. It was always an event when Mom was in the kitchen, no one ever went home hungry - she made sure of that! Most of all Mom loved her family and made sure to let them know by calling multiple times every day, normally right around dinner time! Aside from her family she had a great love of her fur babies especially her dog Kramer and grand dog Chewy. She will be missed by all! Special thanks to all the staff in the St. Boniface Dialysis unit for all the great care they gave Mom this past year. A private family interment has taken place at Warren Cemetery. A come and go reception to celebrate Linda's life will take place on Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 877 Kernaghan Ave., Winnipeg, MB. • Linda was like another mother to my brother, sister and I. As children, we spent many weekends, holidays and summers with the Jardine family. Those times hold some of my fondest memories. I don't remember a time that Linda did not have a smile on her face! Even as an adult, bumping into her, she always had time to chat and catch up. I feel very fortunate to have had her in my life. - Posted by: Teresa (Rivais) Logozar (Forever friend) on: Sep 15, 2018
