MURIEL KILLE Muriel passed away suddenly and peacefully on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Muriel was born in Brandon on April 29, 1928. During her childhood years, she was raised on the family farm in the Margaret area. In 1945, the family moved to Brandon. On June 3, 1950, she married Les Kille and they celebrated 60 years of marriage before Les' passing in September, 2010. Together they raised four sons, twins Ron and Don arrived in 1951, Rick followed in 1954 and latecomer Randy was born in 1961. These sons were collectively called "the boys" by Muriel and Les. Muriel was a very talented lady, she played the guitar and sang. She also excelled in the kitchen making everything from pickles to pies! Other interests included gardening and travelling. She and Les enjoyed many trips to Hawaii, the Caribbean, Mexico and Europe. Many years were spent with the ACT where lifelong friendships were formed. Her biggest accomplishment in her mind was raising her four sons; she took great pride in being our Mom. She loved spending time with her family, sisters, sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandkids. Up until her very last days she was there for everyone with advice and guidance. Her gift was that she made people feel special, often with unique comments on Facebook using her iPad. Muriel was a very special person, loving, caring and easily making friends wherever she went. Her final home was at Sokol Supportive Housing where she spent many hours visiting with staff and fellow residents. She loved it there! She will be greatly missed by her sons, Ron (Mona), Don (Becki), Rick (Kelly) and Randy (Cheryl), her grandchildren, Julie (Colin), Erin (Andy) and David (Ron); Tammy, Brent (Kim) and Tim (Nicole); Dawn (Philip), Joe (Tenelle) and Chris; Kayla and Kerri; great-grandchildren, Caedy, Lincoln and Hope; her loving sister Audrey (Lionel), many nieces, nephews and friends. Many thanks to Dr. Groves, Dr. Deong, staff at Brandon Clinic, Sokol Supportive Housing, Brandon Reginal Health Centre and all who assisted Mom. A celebration of Muriel's life will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. A private family interment will take place at the Rapid City Cemetery. Donations in Muriel's memory may be directed to the Brandon Family YMCA, 231-8th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 3X2 or charity of choice. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • My deepest condolences on the loss of your mother. I see it has just been two years since her passing. She must be dearly missed. I met you mother when I was 15 yrs old. I had heart surgery during the days of her heart surgery recovery and she encouraged me and showed me such kindness. During our recoveries I would take my daily walks to her room where she would tell me about her family and ask me about myself. I grew very fond of her and had the privilege of staying in touch with her for years! I even went on to have four boys, including twins, just like her! Muriel and Les were a very special part of my life, even making the journey out to my wedding in 2002. I still remember the shock and excitement of seeing them walk into the church, they would come all this way JUST FOR ME?! It seems that was just the kind of lady she was. She made you feel like a very special person. I treasure those memories. I wish you all well and am privileged to have known her. - Posted by: Michelle Klassen (Friend of Muriel’s) on: Sep 14, 2020
