Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBOB BURNHAM In his 80th year, Bob passed away on September 16, 2018, after a hard fought battle with Vascular Parkinsonism, with Lewy Body Dementia characteristics. Bob was predeceased by his brother Dick and sister Joyce, he is survived by his dear wife Doreen; children, Grant (Tammy) and Susan (Shawn) Starosilec; grandchildren, Evan, Kristen, Brett and Megan; sisters, Fay Barrette, Courtice, ON and Dianne Galbecka (Tony); brothers-in-law, Jack Morrow and Robert Carthew (Linda), Guelph, ON. Bob was born September 30, 1938 at the Misericordia Hospital, 11 days before his future wife was born at the same hospital. He grew up in St. James. Bob was a real storyteller at heart with a great sense of humour. Bob worked for Goodyear Tire. He married Doreen, September 9, 1960. After the birth of their son, he was transferred to Brandon. There he was a member of the Brandon Flying Club and Toastmasters. After a wonderful five years in which their daughter was born, Bob was transferred back to Winnipeg living in Westwood, then on to Edmonton as District Sales Manager. Shortly after, Bob bought a Tire Shop in Dauphin, where the family enjoyed small town life. Returning to Winnipeg, Bob worked in real estate, house building, and Eaton's Warehouse Store. Bob loved boating at Long Pine Lake and had been a member of the Shriners' club. Retirement years were enjoyed at their home north of Gimli, with winters spent in Arizona. A great passion of Bob's was vintage cars of which he had many! In later years, he joined the Manitoba Classic and Antique Auto Club. Family was always closest and dearest to his heart, and he was very proud of all their accomplishments. A memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. The family would like to thank Arlis and the staff at Deer Lodge Centre T3 South for the kind and compassionate care extended to Bob.
