MICHAEL KAPKO Michael Kapko, born June 22, 1926 in Transcona, Manitoba, passed away September 13, 2018, at his home in La Mirada, California. Married Olga (Ollie) in 1952 in Canada. Mike and his wife Ollie with their two young sons, Rick (four) and Ken (one), emigrated from Canada to Whittier, California in 1956. Jim was born a few years later. Mike and Ollie, along with Rick and Ken became proud United States citizens in the 1960s. Mike worked as a sheet metal fabricator his entire career, and eventually retired in his 50s due to a work injury. After retirement, Mike and Ollie travelled extensively throughout the world. Mike is survived by sons/daughters-in-law, Rick and Nancy Kapko, Ken and Christy Kapko and Jim Kapko; grandchildren, Matt (Ellie) Kapko, Adam (Heidi) Kapko, Amanda (Brett) Dixon, Margaret Kapko and Gus Kapko; stepgrandchildren, Marissa (Joe) Grohoski and Allie Dorsey; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Kapko, Hudson Kapko, Asher Kapko, Carter Dixon, Reese Dixon, Faye Dixon and Emersyn Kapko; and step-great-grandchildren, Gabriel Dorsey and Noah Grohoski. Mike was predeceased by his soul mate Ollie (who passed away 25 years ago), and his grandson Brian Kapko (who passed away 13 years ago). Pallbearers: Todd Berry, John Lavey, Matt Kapko, Adam Kapko, Gus Kapko and Thomas Lawrence.
