BARBARA LYNNE SWAN (HUNTLY)
Born: May 31, 1960
Date of Passing: Sep 25, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARBARA LYNNE SWAN (nee HUNTLY) May 31, 1960 - September 25, 2018 After a short struggle with cancer, Barb died peacefully with her much loved family by her side, husband Ken and children, Alexandra and Ian. She is also survived by mother Shirley Knight, father Bill Huntly (Debra), siblings, Laurie (Barry), Joan (Mark) and Duane (Suzanne); nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Keith), Stephen (Susana), Michael (Robyn), Luciano (Ashton), Damiano, Adrianna, Dylan (Claire) and Connor; great-nieces and nephews, Bennett, Jayda, Rowynn, Winston, Grayson and Emmett. Barb was grateful to Dr. C. Duprat, Dr. D. Grenier, and especially Dr. A. Cooke, all of whom she credited with giving her seven more years with her family, after her initial diagnosis of cancer in 2011. On this last short journey there have been too many people to name, whether friends, family or health care providers, that have provided wonderful support and care along the way. We thank all of them. Family was important to Barb, not just the immediate but extended as well. She enjoyed going to the Knight family reunions and tried to keep in touch with as many aunts, uncles and cousins as she could, and often spoke fondly of childhood summers on the farm and connecting with her aunts and uncles while helping with the chores. Barb loved children, but especially the family children. She was always interested in all of their latest adventures and developed close relationships with Jennifer, Stephen and Michael, all born prior to her own children. Barb was proud of her work as a Laboratory Technologist, working 38 years in the Microbiology Department at St. Boniface Hospital, and having made several close friends there over the years. The team worked very well together and there was always opportunity to learn something from each other every day. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Barb's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on October 4, 2018 at Breezy Bend Country Club, 7620 Roblin Blvd. In lieu of flowers, a donation to your favourite charity would be appreciated. I would like to extend my deepest condolences to Barb's family, Having worked alongside Barb for many years, she was always the first to poke her head in my office to say Good Morning. I loved our chats beside her locker and will definitely miss her. She often updated me on her family and was always very proud of the achievements of her children. Her cheerfulness and generosity to all staff will not be forgotten. - Posted by: Lorraine Palatnick (Co-worker) on: Oct 16, 2018
