Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDR. ROBERT ADOLF COOK Bob passed away peacefully in his 77th year on September 17, 2018 at University Hospital in London, Ontario. Bob will be forever remembered by his two sons, Benjamin and Michael, and by his sister, Shirley McDonald (Jack). He was predeceased by his parents, Adolf and Bernice (Frankiewicz) Cook, and his dear brother Gordon Cook. He was born in Gimli and raised in Winnipeg. He attended John M. King, General Wolfe and Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. He attained his PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Manitoba and then did a post doctrinal fellowship at Berkeley University in California. He was hired by the University of Western Ontario, London where he was a professor of Biochemistry until he retired in 2005. As a youth he played violin in the Winnipeg Youth Symphony. He was a well rounded athlete playing football, golf and curling. He loved music, travelling, fishing, following sports and cooking. He was gentle and soft spoken, and won many teaching awards. A Celebration of Life was held Wednesday, September 26, 2018 in the Medical Sciences Building, University of Western Ontario. Interment will be at a later date in Gimli, Manitoba in St. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery.
