  • I am deeply saddened to hear of Ruth's passing. She volunteered in my EAL class for several years and was a joy to know. She helped many students with learning English. Her busy life as a senior was an inspiration to me. She talked of her involvement with St. Stephens church, her book club and her other volunteer positions. She often gave me the names of good books she was reading. We loved talking about books together. She talked fondly of her family often and was thrilled with her new great grandchild when she was born. I missed her when she stopped coming to volunteer. Interestingly she took yoga classes for many years that were taught by my mom Tyke Cairns. There was a small group of ladies from that class who would go out for coffee after the yoga class once a month or so, and Ruth was one of them. She shall be missed in many circles I am sure. I send you my sincere condolences. God bless. - Posted by: Tara McLeod (Volunteered in my EAL class) on: Oct 06, 2018
