Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT ERNEST LEECH April 25, 1936 - October 5, 2018 Bob passed away peacefully at Health Sciences Centre surrounded by family, after a short but hard-fought battle with cancer. Bob is survived by his wife Kathleen; stepsons, Trevor (Judy), Tim (Tania), and Robert (Diane); eight beloved grandchildren; two great-granddaughters and a baby bump; Kathleen's son Brad (Laura) and grandson; sister Joan (Allan); brothers-in-law, Gordon and Clifford; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Clifford and Jean Leech; first partner Beverly; sister Marion; and nephew Michael. After a few odd jobs at an early age, Bob spend 30 plus years with the Manitoba Department of Highways, Motor Transport Board and Taxi Cab Board. Bob's main love was Minaki and this summer he was so happy to be able to make it down to the cottage and say he had been there 81 years, only missing one as a young man in the reserves. How he loved to sit on the porch and watch the world go by. Bob and Kathy were also able to spend numerous winters in Mesa, Arizona, where they enjoyed the weather and all their new friends. Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donation in Bob's memory may be made to the Christmas Cheer Board, or a charity of your choice.
