Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLYDIA LOUISE (TURFREY) JONES Born September 2, 1931 Passed October 7, 2018 Lydia was predeceased by husband Walter in 1993 and brothers, Henry and John. She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters, June, Patricia, Maureen, Carol, Jean and Linda all residing in England. Also left to cherish her memory are numerous nieces and nephews and dear friends. Lydia was born and raised in Chiswick, England to Annie and Frederick Turfrey. She moved to Canada in 1957 where she met and married Walter in 1987. Lydia was a very independent lady asking nothing of others. She prided herself on still being able to live in her own house. Her family in England often referred to her house as "The Little House on the Prairie". She was an avid soccer fan and was known for advising her sister of the outcome of the Chelsea games even though her sister resides in England. Lydia was known to enjoy her "three glasses of wine" on Friday afternoon outings with friends. Oh how she looked forward to her shopping trips and lunches with friends. Lydia never forgot a birthday and always enjoyed the celebrations. She was often found taking a few dance steps at the birthday celebrations. As per the family's wishes, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada - Manitoba Division.
