Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEONARD (JOE) L. ZAMMIT December 3, 1929 - October 16, 2018 It is with great sadness that we mourn the peaceful passing of Leonard (Joe) L. Zammit, aged 88, on October 16, 2018 in Winnipeg. Joe was born in Winnipeg on December 3, 1929 to parents Joseph and Mary. He met his wife Lorraine through an introduction by mutual friends. They married on August 28, 1954 and called Transcona home, where they raised four children and Snoopy the Beagle. Here they lived a fun filled, adventurous and sports filled life. Dad discovered the family's special home away from home at Gull Lake, where they bought a cottage in 1966. It was where the family played and made great life-long friends and memories. Joe was an avid golfer, sailor, curler, snowmobiler, skier and fisherman. His love for sports was surpassed only by his love for adventure and travel. Joe and Lorraine enjoyed many exotic travels but his favourite of all was sailing the Caribbean on a Windjammer. Joe enjoyed success as a sales representative in the printing sector mainly for Stovel Advocate which later became Lawson Graphics and LGM Graphics. After retirement, Joe and Lorraine wintered in Harlingen, Texas for many years. Joe was a great role model to his children and grand-children. He will be missed dearly by his wife of 64 years, Lorraine; his children, Wade (Debbie), Jay (Deb), Dean (Wendy) and Jodi. as well as by his grandchildren, David, Loren, Riley, Jessie, Zachary and Hayden. The family is grateful for and would like to thank the staff at the Maples Personal Care Home for their compassionate care. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Transcona Legion, 117 Regent Avenue East, on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. www.voyagefuneralhomes.com

I knew Joe, unfortunately, only in a business context - but that was enough to appreciate his warmth, humor, zest for life and a ready “hail fellow, well met” quality that made knowing him such a delight. He repped Lawson Graphics’ printing services to Investors Group for many years, and they were no doubt only one of many blue-ribbon firms that relied on Joe’s expertise and skill to bring their printing projects to a successful conclusion. His engaging and lively personality was the reason many clients became devoted friends, and I humbly place myself among them. At this writing, I hadn’t seen or actively known Joe for over 20 years, and I’m certainly the poorer for it. I’ve always considered 88 to be a “good round number” and a fitting capper to a life well-lived, and I’m glad Joe reached that milestone. I miss him a lot. Until we meet again, Joseph....rest well, sir. - Posted by: Peter Friend (Business Associate) on: Aug 23, 2020

Dean/Wendy and family, sorry for your loss. There is no doubt that the family love's of sailing/curling/friends and family gatherings will continue as he made the times at the lake for family and friends. Continue on as he would have wished and as he embedded into you. See you at the lake. - Posted by: Dennis Terleski (Friend) on: Oct 25, 2018
