MORTON (BUD) FRANK GUEST April 14, 1927 - October 13, 2018 Peacefully, on October 13 at Health Sciences Centre, Bud, aged 91, dearly beloved husband of Shirley, passed away. Besides his wife he leaves to mourn his daughter Susan (Don); granddaughters, Jaclyn (Brent) and Hayley (Kyle); son Bud (Karen); granddaughters, Kerri and Laurelle (Stefan); great-grandchildren, Nickolas and Sarah. Born in Kenora, he moved with his family to Winnipeg at the age of 10. He was the oldest son of six siblings. He grew up in the West End and Central part of the city. He became a sheet metal journeyman and spent a 50 year career in the trade at Canadian Rogers and later Heli-Fab. As a young man dad was a very good athlete, but excelled as a pitcher in the city's junior and senior men's baseball leagues playing with the Elmwood Giants, the Morris Place Monarchs, and Transcona Rail Roaders. Mom and Dad married in 1953, and spent 65 years together, 63 of those in their home in St. Vital. They spent many happy summers with their friends and family at their cabin at Grand Beach, especially their four granddaughters. He was a great fixer of things from his cars to home and yard projects. When working he could always be heard singing a song or whistling a tune. He was the last of his family, predeceased by four sisters, Helen, Florence, Virginia and Shirley-Anne, and younger brother Joe. He is survived by sister-in-law Eve, and many nieces and nephews. Dad was in every sense a true gentleman. He loved his family very much and cherished family dinners and get-togethers and he will be sorely missed. Thank you to the staff at Health Sciences Centre, Dr. David Dawe at CancerCare and longtime family doctor Heather Domke, for their excellent care. Cremation has taken place and a private Celebration of Life will be held at the end of October.
