Cherishing his memory are his loving wife of 52 years, Denise, his daughters, Cynthia (Stephen), Rona and Janice (Heath), his four precious grandchildren, Kyle (Linda), Mark (Saige), Brittany (Sheldon) and Kailynn. Left to mourn his passing are his brothers and sisters, Kathleen (Gary) McNaughton, Audrey Plishka, Myrna (Mike) Wright, Larry (Wendy), Jack (Paulette), Karen (Dennis) Gislason and Beverly (Carl) Singer, his sisters-in-law, Sharron and Ginger, numerous nieces, nephews and the many friends he made throughout his life. He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Mabel Mann, brothers, John and Mickey, his sister Marjorie, brothers-in-law, Jim White and Wally Plishka and nephew Jeffery. David was born and raised in the town of Hodgson, Manitoba. He attended Hodgson School until he began helping out his dad in the family business, Hodgson Motors, at the age of 16. He received his diploma as a certified automotive mechanic at Red River College and worked alongside his brothers to run a successful business. Dave was a hardworking man and worked tirelessly in the garage until his failing health prevented him from continuing his work. On October 1, 1966 he married the love of his life, Denise. Together they raised their three daughters and spent their married years on the family homestead. Dave was a great family man and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Dad was always kind, generous, and patient and taught fairness and acceptance for everyone, regardless of circumstance. He was a great role model to all. Dave was a great friend to many. He enjoyed getting together for coffee and dinners and looked forward to attending concerts and shows that highlighted his love for classic country music. Over the years, he loved ski-dooing, quadding, car shows and curling, and was very fond of old western movies and game shows. The Autotrader was his favourite read and he loved buying his Lotto 6/49 in his chase of the "Millionaire Dream". He took pleasure in travelling with Denise to the Caribbean, Vegas and road trips within Canada and the States. He enjoyed life and was always grateful for the little things. He will be missed by many. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at Percy E. Moore, St. Boniface and Health Sciences Centre hospitals for their supportive and ongoing care. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Fisher Branch, MB with Father Roy George officiating. • Denise and girls, I am so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. He was a wonderful person. I have fond memories of times when I would go to the garage with Walter and the rides home from babysitting the girls and the great conversations we would have in that 10 minute ride.
