GARRY WINSTON WOWRYK It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, Garry Winston Wowryk on October 27, 2018. Garry leaves to mourn his two daughters, Shelley Wowryk (Trent Siemens) and Kristy Wowryk; and his grandson, Madoc Wowryk. Garry is also survived by his sister Sherren (Bob) Antymniuk, as well many relatives and cherished friends. Garry was born in Shoal Lake, MB on March 23, 1946. He was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Jean Wowryk. He was a retired business owner, having spent many years in Winnipeg's trucking industry as co-founder of Ram Messenger/Winnipeg Motor Express, later moving on to own his restaurant in Perrault Falls, ON. Garry was best known for his genuine love of fishing, hunting, and everything outdoors, which was always enjoyed alongside many beloved friends and family members throughout his entire life. He will be remembered as the entertainer in the room, a story teller and life of the party. Garry's zest for life was driven by his passion for making people laugh and his sense of humour remained with him right to the end. In keeping with Garry's wishes, no funeral service will be held. VICHNAYA PAM'YAT REST IN PEACE

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • My belated condolences to Sherren on the passing of your brother. We both attended St. John's High School and both worked at Safeway in school. Garry worked at Main & Royal Store and I worked at Main & Luxton. While going to university, I worked part-time at Main & Luxton and Sherren was part time cashier there while completing high school. I lost contact with Garry but I worked with Sherren when they opened the Fort Richmond Safeway. Rest in Peace. - Posted by: Colin Dederick (co-worker) on: Aug 17, 2021

  • To Garry's family, we have just now been advised of Garry's passing. I want you all to know that Garry was a great friend and business partner. I lost touch with him over the years and often wondered how he was doing. We had some great times together, I have pictures of a fishing trip we made with Kent Christie many years ago that I recently discovered. He was a very important part of our fledgling business and I truly missed him when he decided to move on. His family should be very proud of having such a genuine person as a father. • Sherren, we were sad to hear of your brother Garry's passing. Although we never stayed in contact with your family, we have many fond memories of family times shared together. Remembering Garry as a fun loving, happy, friendly cousin. Our condolences. Bob & Sylvia Gingras (Nychuk) - Posted by: Sylvia Gingras (Cousin) on: Nov 02, 2018

  • This is a message of condolence to Garry's sister Sherren. Thinking of you & the rest of Garry's family at this sad time. He will be remembered as a friendly kind person with a great smile & a deep voice although it has been so many years since I have seen him. I just happened to find his obituary accidentally yesterday so passed the sad news to Alice, Sylvia & Ben. It's too bad we've lost touch but many fond memories Sherren when we were much younger. Take care 🙏 - Posted by: Donna Gill ( Nychuk ) (Cousin) on: Nov 01, 2018
