THOR CHARLES STEINTHORSON Thor Charles Steinthorson, aged 69, passed away October 27, 2018, in Winnipeg, MB. Dad was born January 8, 1949, in Sherridon, MB to Thor Sr. and Hazel Buck, and raised in Vogar, MB on the Steinthorson family cattle farm. Dad could accomplish anything he set his mind to. A charismatic, handsome, funny man, Dad could hold court in any setting. He had incredible artistic ability, creating homemade Halloween costumes that were always the hit of the block. Although a locksmith by trade, Dad was famous for his five-alarm chili, his dream being to operate a food truck! With many wonderful childhood memories, we cherish his dedication to us in our early years, the best: the pancake breakfasts, the camping and fishing trips, the carpooling, and all the laughter. Thor was a father of three and grandfather of nine: Dana (son Cody), Greg (wife Lori, and children, Erik, Darla, Gavin, Kyra and Reid), Reija (husband Eric, and children, Bradley, Holly and Lily). Dad was a big brother to Crystal and Clarence and was predeceased by his father Thor Sr., mother Hazel, and brother Norman. Everyone who remembers Thor is asked to celebrate his life in their own way; it is our wish that everyone would do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for someone less fortunate, in his name. The family wants to thank Harold for being such a good friend to Dad in his last years. A Celebration of Life will be held by his friends at the Woodbine Hotel, 466 Main Street, Winnipeg, on Saturday, November 17 at 1:00 p.m.

  • My condolences to Thor's family. It has been a long time since our days at the one room Siglunes school and all the fun we had fooling around at the Steinthorson farm. - Posted by: Mark Emilson (Old friend) on: Nov 06, 2018
