ALEXANDER EWACHA March 23, 1937- October 25, 2018 On October 25, 2018 our Dad, Husband and Grandfather, Alex Ewacha, passed away at Riverview Health Centre from a lengthy battle of Cancer. Alex was predeceased by his parents, Micheal and Paraska Ewacha, brothers, Henri and Bud. He leaves behind his devoted wife Violet of 58 years, son Curtis and wife Jackie, son Terry and wife Vicki, daughter Sherry and husband Ray, four beautiful grandchildren and one stepgrandchild Jennifer, Shaun, Michelle and (husband Brian Kiss), Danielle and Jordan. Alex was born on March 23, 1937 in Zhoda, MB where he was raised on his family's farm. He went to work at a smelter mine in Sudbury, ON then returned back to Zhoda to continue farming. He was close with his brother Bud. Alex's favourite pastime was hunting and trapping. In 1959, Alexander met Violet and married in June, 1960. In September, 1967, Alex and Violet sold their farm in Zhoda then moved to Middlebro, MB where they raised their family and pursued cattle and grain farming. Alex volunteered many hours with Violet at the Middlebro Community Centre. Alex retired in 1996 from cattle farming. Alex and Violet then first travelled two winters to Texas in their RV, other travels to Mexico, Cuba, Hawaii, Italy, Hungary, Austria and winters in Victoria, BC. Alex was a devoted grandfather who loved spending time with each of his grandchildren. He was kind-hearted, with a strong work ethic and enjoyed helping people. Dad will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts. A memorial celebration of Alex's life will be held in April, 2019 which is to be announced at a later date. Special thanks to Riverview Health Centre to all staff for their wonderful care and kindness they showed and all staff at St. Boniface CancerCare. It gave great comfort to our dad during his care.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Dear Dad It's your Birthday today, you would have been 82. Thinking of you today. Dad, you taught me what heroes are made of. You were the biggest influence in my life. You taught me how to love life. You keep leaving me white feathers everywhere I go. Since you have passed I have found enough feathers to build my own angel wings and visit you in heaven. Thank you for being such a wonderful kind human being to me, and foremost an amazing loving father. I will never forget you. Love always, Your Daughter Sherry - Posted by: Sherry Ewacha Poole (daughter) on: Mar 23, 2019
