DENIS HEBERT With sadness we say farewell to Denis Hebert, who died in San Antonio, Texas on August 27, 2018, aged 76. Denis was predeceased by his father Butch (Maurice) in 1978 and his mother Lillian in 2005. In an odd twist of fate, Denis' brother John (Ros) died within days of Denis' passing. He leaves his devoted friend Della Miller, his brother Gilles (Nancy), his brother Rene (Jean), and his sister Pierrette. Denis will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Denis was born and raised in St. Boniface, Manitoba. At age 19, during a fun night out with friends, Denis and company travelled to Grand Forks, North Dakota and enlisted in the American Army. He became a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division and this was, arguably, the best time of his life. After service, he returned to Winnipeg and worked in various positions including breweries, distilleries and with pharmaceutical companies. Denis was considered by some to be a bon vivant and he spent many happy hours holding court at the Niakwa and later at the Norwood Hotel where he would regale his friends with tales of his glory days as a G.I. He moved to San Antonio in 1999 and lived there until his death with periodic stays back in St. Boniface. He will be interred in San Antonio at the Fort Sam Houston military base with full honours. "Here's lookin' at you" RIP dear brother
