JEAN HUSELAK ROSS (nee ROSMUS) September 2, 1932 - November 1, 2018 Peacefully at home, Jean passed away November 1, 2018, at the age of 86. Mom is predeceased by her two brothers and four sisters; she was the baby of the family, and now joins them. She leaves behind four children: daughter Cindy Reis, grandchildren, Nicole and Justin Reis; son Don Ross, grandchildren, Kyle and Kristen Ross; son Derek Ross, wife Cherry; and daughter Tannis Ross, husband Dave Stone, and granddaughter Haley Wiebe. Mom loved cheering on the Jets, and Dustin Byfuglien in particular! She loved going for dinner with her children, baking, and perogie making, until her later years when it became more of a challenge, but she always snuck in orders for those who could not go without. Mom loved to sew and knit, sewing until her last days, even if she couldn't really see what she was doing! Mom's generous nature meant you never left her apartment without something, be it an apple pie, a dozen perogies, a jar of homemade pickles, a pound of butter, or a cake mix from her cupboard! Anything, as long as she was able to give you something. Mom was a story teller, and had so many stories from her work years, and life, which was full and vibrant! Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul. In lieu of flowers, we would love for you to send flowers to your own mother or to someone you love to show your love and appreciation of them. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Jean was my mother-in-law for 26 years (half my life time) and I loved/love her deeply! In the last few years we were casino buddies, her game of choice being keno. If she was winning she was so happy, we would laugh with wins she got be it a small amount to the most sought after $250. If she didn't win she was royally P.O'd. She said we would never sit in those seats again! I loved her laugh! Her hugs! Her kisses (she had the softest cheeks)! Her telling me each time I left, that she loved me! Jean was unique in so many ways. She said what was on her mind no matter what. I loved hearing her stories of her younger years. Jean was my mother-in-law, my friend! - Posted by: Cherry Basarowich-Ross (daughter-in-law) on: Nov 06, 2018

  • Originally I met Jean through my step daughter who worked with her son at a dealership. Ordered my first perogies through there and kept on directly for years. After my first order through her son he told me to contact her directly. She made the best as well as awesome cabbage rolls. Years later I found out through my (then new) boss, it was his mother in law - talk about a small world. She also made the most awesome mile high pies - she loved to talk about her baking when I would go pick up my orders. After she had her episode, and I retired I started to make my own but nothing could ever match hers. She will be missed. - Posted by: Annette West (friend / customer) on: Nov 06, 2018
