JULIAN GARSKI On Thursday, November 8, 2018, after a long and determined struggle against declining health, Julian finally found peace and freedom from pain. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Cathy; sons, Chris and Kevin (Pam Diaczun); sister Wanda (Ted Lismer) and their children, Sonia, Gloria, Tom and Nancy; dear cousin Rosemary Oige and her children, Kyle (Donna and son Lucas) and Celindy (Jason Ostapyk); sisters-in-law, Jean Mary (John Sinclair) and Barbara (Harold Thuringer) and their children, and many other extended family and close friends. Dad was predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Ellen; parents, Rose and Albert Garski; nephew John Lismer; niece Patricia Goodfellow; and his beloved beagle Snoopy. Sound and music were an important part of Dad's life from an early age. Working at Hallcraft Electronics and through his own business Soundscape Services, he made his living making music sound perfect by designing and installing sound systems of all kinds. He was also an accomplished violinist who, at the time of his passing, played with both the Southglen Fiddlers and the Winnipeg Pops Orchestra. Along with the Sisters of the Holy Rock, these musical groups kindled strong friendships for Dad and kept him socially active and mentally engaged in his later years after Mom passed away. In accordance with Julian's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Dad's life will be held at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., on Friday, November 16 at 1:30 p.m., with a private interment ceremony to follow at a later date. Our family would like to thank the exceptional care teams in the kidney health unit and on 5B at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Julian's memory to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation, the Kidney Foundation of Canada, the Winnipeg Humane Society, or a charity of your choice.
