EDITH DIANA WIELER (nee VIT) May 10, 1926 - November 9, 2018 Edith was born in Petersfield, Manitoba, on May 10, 1926, to Antonio and Angelina (nee Bidinosti) Vit and was the youngest of three with sisters, Elizabeth and Edna. Edith was married to John Wieler on November 4, 1950 at Holy Rosary Church in Winnipeg. Edith was the loving mother of Kenneth James Wieler and Larry John Wieler, both born in Winnipeg. Edith had two grandchildren, John (Ken and Jody) and Benjamin (Larry and Diana). She was also the delighted great-grandmother to Fiona Jean Wieler, daughter of Benjamin and Sheena (nee Brennan) Wieler. Edith passed quietly on November 9, 2018, in Stoney Creek, Ontario, where she moved in the beginning of 2014, so that she could be closer to her immediate family who all live in Southern Ontario. Edith was an energetic woman who was always busy and engaged. While she slowed down over the years, she retained a sense of humour and was aware of the events going on in the world around her. She always looked back fondly on her time working at the Women's Pavilion, at the Winnipeg General Hospital in the 1950s and while she went to other things after her children were born in 1959 and 1961, she always looked on that experience as very special in her life. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 16 at 10:00 a.m., at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, with interment to follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Edith will be missed but she will mostly be, fondly remembered and cherished by those who knew and loved her.
