Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Dear sister Cathy, John's family, and close friends. Cathy, you and John came together later in life and had 25 years of happiness and support. For family and friends, we did not know John well but from our few family gatherings we know that in his 95 years John made great sacrifices, suffered the trials of life, and had many happy years. His death coming shortly after Rememberance Day we acknolwedge his great sacrifice for Canada and the world as he served in WWII. Only now is the world recognizing the impact of those horrible years on those who serve. Interesting where life leads us all. Later in life as John married Rose's sister Cathy, we received a new brother-in-law. Then we find out that John's family lived across the street in Brandon from Tom's aunt and uncle, Don and Yvonne (Jeff) Stewart and their daughter Yvette who used to play with John's daughter. John's long life has touched many people. - Posted by: Rose and Tom Rogers (Sister-in-law, brother-in-law) on: Nov 17, 2018

  • I first met John when I started with the MLCC in 1982. Immediately we had a connection and we became lifelong friends. I have many wonderful stories and memories. John was so lucky in many ways. He lived a long life and always had what he needed. He taught me if you want something get off your butt and earn it lol, lastly I would like to thank Cathy with all my heart for the care she gave John when things were getting tough. An amazing women that stuck by his side "for better or worse". - Posted by: Gary (Friend) on: Nov 15, 2018
