Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • Mrs. Sweetland taught me Grade 2 at Victory School in 1968-69. I have a mental image of her in a white sleeveless dress and very cool '60's eyeglasses. I used to like to draw pictures in the margins of my workbook. I can still remember her very kindly saying to me "Although your drawings are very nice, please don't do them in your workbook." She was a very kind, lovely teacher. I enjoyed Grade 2 with Mrs. Sweetland. I wrote to her on FB a few years ago, and she replied to me. My deepest sympathies to her family. - Posted by: Debbie (Hrechuk) Wiggins (Former Student) on: Dec 15, 2018

  • I worked with Andrea on the Super Six board. My condolences to her family. She was very thorough and a delight to work with. She will be missed, rest in peace. - Posted by: Terry Meindl (Friend and Colleague) on: Dec 01, 2018

  • I can remember sitting in class making my alphabet books. I have used many things she taught me so early along the way. Mrs. Sweetland, you were indeed important in the life of this child, and so many children. - Posted by: Jennifer Coombs (Previous Grade 1 Student) on: Nov 23, 2018

  • Eriksdale has lost a fine lady. I worked closely with Andrea for a number of years and have the utmost respect. My thoughts are with the entire family. RIP - Posted by: Dennis Laing (Colleague) on: Nov 21, 2018

  • Andrea was a great and loyal friend. She had the rare gift of always giving of herself. If you needed help or an ear to listen all you had to do was ask. She would help anyone who needed it, she would support you in your decision, and fight for your rights and actions. She was a great friend to me in my work and a phenomenal champion for her community. Right was right and you don't just turn a blind eye to things being done wrong. Her wisdom, effort, and caring will be missed. - Posted by: Henry (Friend) on: Nov 20, 2018
