Condolences & Memories (5 entries)
Dear Mickey & Bonnie. We're so sorry to hear of Uncle Gil's passing. He and your Mother were such wonderful hosts for our frequent get-togethers in Montreal, especially at this time of year. They came all the way to Nova Scotia in 1984 for our Wedding, and we'd last seen your Dad in Winnipeg several years ago. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, and hope you can relive some of the happy memories with your Dad. Take care. My condolences, Michele and Bonnie. Your father was my godfather and helped me when I moved to Winnipeg; for this I'm thankful. Your father helped teach me to "eat with a heavy fork" and for this I'm grateful. I will especially remember Uncle Gil during this year's Grey Cup. I know we all immensely enjoyed the Grey Cup games of the past. I hope we will always remember the fun. - Posted by: Fred Huard (Godson) on: Nov 23, 2018
Dear Michele and Bonnie, Greg and I are so sorry to hear the news and wish we could be there with you today. Although sad, are so happy to have many wonderful memories of your Dad, especially when our families would get together when we all lived in Montreal. At this time of year, we particularly remember the Grey Cup parties where the eastern and western rivalries were a lot of fun. Do you remember when some of us got into Uncle Gil's homemade wine? Mercedes sang the whole way home in the car! Greg particularly remembers your Dad taking him to the Brasserie, across from your parents' place on Sherbrooke, to get to know him a little better shortly after we were married. Greg still isn't sure how he made it back and I clearly remember the twinkle in your Dad's eye as they returned! We hope that many happy memories help you in this difficult time. Big hugs to both of you! Michaela & Greg - Posted by: Michaela Huard (Friend, though he will always be "Uncle" Gil) on: Nov 23, 2018
