VILHELMINA (VILLA) MARIAN LEITOLD (nee DAVIDSON) Daughter of Gusti and Gladys Davidson April 25, 1939 - November 16, 2018 It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Villa has gone dancing. She will live on in the hearts of her loving husband of 58 years, Michael Leitold; her children, Deanna (Andy) Hoover, Kirk (Maxine), Doug (Sharon); as well as her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends, too numerous to mention. She was predeceased by her parents, Gusti and Gladys Davidson; brothers, Malcolm and Archie; a sister-in-law Bernice; and a nephew Darrin. Villa was born and raised in Oakview, MB in a three bedroom home along with ten brothers and sisters. Her many talents and accomplishments were an inspiration to us all. Her strength of character helped mould us into the people we have become. Villa always found the positive in people. She never judged or spoke unkind thoughts. Thank you Mom. You are always in our hearts and missed beyond words. Villa had an aura about her that made you reach for the stars, hoping never to disappoint her. Villa always made herself available to everyone from joyful occasions to someone in crisis. Villa accomplished many ambitions by teaching school on a teacher permit at the age of 17. She was elected the first female President of The Winnipeg Printing House Craftsman Club. Villa went on to become the first female Governor of the 14th District of The Printing House Craftsman in which her travels took her through Minnesota, North Dakota and Manitoba challenging the printing industry towards excellence. Their motto being "Share Your Knowledge". In all of this, she found time to raise her children, and help with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Villa and Mike met at a dance at Dolly Bay and continued dancing together throughout their lives. Villa was an avid daily walker. She enjoyed reading and loved to curl and golf. Villa was active in the Red Hat Society. The family is honouring Villa's wishes with cremation having taken place. A service will not be held. A private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, Room ON 1160, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9, or a charity of your choice. Our entire family would like to thank Dr. R. Kansara and the staff of CancerCare for the wonderful care over the three years Villa battled cancer. We would like to express our sincere appreciation for the wonderful and compassionate care provided by all the staff at Riverview Health Centre and the Regional Palliative Care Program. Her smiling way and pleasant face Are a pleasure to recall, She had a kindly word for each And is always loved by all. Some day we hope to meet her, Some day we know not when, To clasp her hand in the better land Never to part again. Arrangements by: ARNASON FUNERAL HOME Ashern - Lundar 1.204.768.2072 1.866.323.3593
