Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERTINE MCCAUGHAN On November 7, 2018, only four days before her 101st birthday, Albertine peace-fully entered into eternal life. Albertine will be lovingly remembered by her children, Roger (Patricia), Roland (Sandie), Denis (Joyce), Orval, André, Carole (John), Réal (Kate), Leona (Bob), Raymond (Maureen), Louis (Laurie), Mona (Doug); and close family friend Georgette. She was a proud grandmother of 34 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Joe (Eva); sister-in-law Hélène; numerous nephews; nieces and many special friends. Albertine was predeceased by husband Ovide; son Paul; daughters-in-law, Leona and Paulette; grandsons, Leo, Mark and Kevin. On November 11, 1917 Albertine was born to Edmond and Yvonne Laramée. At the age of 19 she married Ovide; they raised their 12 children on the family farm where Mom resided until age 99. She was a hard-working devoted wife and mother, a cherished memère who loved spoiling kids! Mom kept up with current affairs and was accepting of changing trends. She had a great memory for people, events, and history. She could easily converse with young and old often giving advice and sharing her opinion. She loved to travel, play cards and to socialize; everyone was welcome at her kitchen table. Grandma always showed a genuine interest in all her family's activities; attending everything from recitals to car races! She instilled in us a strong sense of family and generosity and was an active community member. Mom accepted with courage the challenges that she faced. Last year we honoured her 100th at a big family party which she enjoyed immensely. Praying the Rosary will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2018 in St. Francois-Xavier Church, 1053 Hwy 26, St. Francois, MB followed by funeral mass at 1:30 p.m. Special thanks to Southern Health and to Foyer Valade for their compassionate care. Donations in Mom's memory can be made to St. Francois Church Cemetery Fund. Having met Albertine in her Guelph trips to visit Mona and Doug it was easy to see that she shared the same sense of love, fun, and family that is always admired in a great matriarch. A much loved lady who left a wonderful legacy that has reached across generations. - Posted by: Linda McGillivray (Mona’s Guelph wanna be sister) on: Dec 01, 2018

Your Mom was an amazing woman! The best memory I have of "Tina" was riding the Greyhound bus with her to Calgary to visit Mona who was staying at her brother Orval's place. I think this was 1979! Wow, she was an inspiration then. I didn't get to see her much in later years as I moved away but I am sure she was as exceptional as always. My condolences to all of the McCaughan clan. You will miss her very much! - Posted by: Sue Arbez (Friend) on: Nov 28, 2018
