KIMBERLY DAWN HARTIG February 2, 1971 - November 22, 2018 Kim passed away peacefully on November 22, 2018 at Women's Pavilion, at the age of 47, after a two-year courageous battle with cancer. Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Keith and Margaret Hartig; brother Ken (Donna); sister Lisa (Ken); brother Kurtis (Lauren); nieces, Felisha and Victoria (Brock); nephews, Rolston, Hayden and Oliver; also her aunts and uncles, Phyllis Van Haute (Roger), Jacob Nickel (Marilyn) and Peter Nickel (Elfreda); cousins, Miriam and Rachel, as well as her Alberta cousins; also close friends, Jolene and Wendy and co-workers. She will be greatly missed by all. Kim was a happy person who loved life; spending time with her family and her job at Freight House Daycare where she ran the school-age program. She also enjoyed reading, travelling, spending time with her parents at Gimli campground and cuddling with her cat A.J. We would like to thank all who prayed and supported her during her cancer journey and visited her in the hospital the last weeks of her life. Also thanks to her team of doctors and the nursing staff on the 5th floor. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2018 at The Meeting Place, 139 Smith St., Winnipeg. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I was fortunate to meet Kim when we we shared a room in the beginning of November. Her kindness and compassion was very evident when I would hear her comforting other people on the phone. I told her that it was obvious how loved she was by the number of visitors she would get. When I was re-admitted a week later, I poked my head in her door to say hello and her smile was as big as ever. Such a wonderful person to be taken so soon. My condolences to her parents and family on their heartbreaking loss. Godspeed Kim. - Posted by: Melissa (Roommate in Women’s) on: Dec 05, 2018
