MARIA LUISA MACHADO MEDEIROS LOPES August 25, 1924 - November 24, 2018 Suddenly, on November 24, 2018, Maria Luisa passed away. She was predeceased by her husband Augusto; son Jose; sisters, Beatriz and Zelia; brothers, Jose and Manuel; son-in-law John and her niece/goddaughter Martinha. She is survived by her daughters, Zita, Maria and Luisa (Luis); eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one goddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews and her devoted friends. Maria came to Winnipeg in 1961 from the Azores to join her husband Augusto. She was a devoted Roman Catholic who attended church daily and lived a life of prayer. Maria cared about people and was dedicated to helping them. Her life was devoted to her family and she was grateful for the love that she received from them, specifically the relationship she shared with her grandchildren. Prayers at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2018, Mass 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 3, both at Immaculate Conception Church, 181 Austin Street. Father Andre Lico and Tiago Coloni officiating.
